John Lawrence has been a freelance photographer since 1992. Based near Oxford, in the United Kingdom, he regularly travels throughout the country on commissions for The Daily and Sunday Telegraph, the Daily Mail, The Independent and The Sunday Times. He also undertakes commissions for The Guardian, The Observer, the London Evening Standard as well as the BBC and various other magazines and publications both in the UK and abroad.
He began his freelance career after spending time in Bosnia and Croatia in the early 1990s during the civil war. Pictures from the conflict were published in The Independent, The Independent on Sunday, the Daily Mail and The Observer.
Although the majority of his work is digital, using Canon and Lumix equipment, he can also shoot film on both 35mm and medium format...and maybe a biscuit tin!
